Join your neighbors for postcard parties
Here’s a surprising political fact: midterm turnout almost always drops compared to
presidential elections.
That means millions of people who voted in 2024 may sit out in 2026.
And the drop-off isn’t random. The voters most likely to skip midterms are often
younger, more diverse, and less plugged into daily political news — yet they are
exactly the voters Democrats need in order to win back the House and Senate.
The good news is that voting is a habit, and habits are built through repetition.
Research shows that when someone votes in a primary, they become significantly more
likely to vote again in the general election. A simple reminder can put that election on
someone’s radar and help them see themselves as a voter.
That’s why our group is writing postcards ahead of key primaries around the country.
When we send a friendly postcard encouraging someone to vote, we’re giving them that
small nudge that can make the difference between voting and staying home. And because
many races are decided by just a few hundred votes, one evening of postcard writing
really can help decide a race.
We’d love to have you join us for our next local postcard party. It’s an easy, social way
to help strengthen voter turnout while spending time with neighbors who care about
protecting our democracy.
No experience needed—we’ll provide everything.
Come write a few postcards, meet some great people, and be part of the effort to
make every vote count in 2026.
